Kenneth E. Spahn, founder and President of Restaurant Placement Group, is also a renowned restaurant authority and consultant, and has published over 300 articles. Ken Spahn's articles appear regularly in various publications, including Today's Restaurant News, Simply The Best magazine, Boca Raton Observer magazine, Dine Magazine, and Sally's-Place.com Dining Guide. He restaurant and dining columns have also been featured in Las Olas, Boca Life, and Enlightened Practice magazines; Boca Raton News and Happy Times Monthly newspapers; and numerous other trade and specialty publications. Mr. Spahn has appeared as a guest expert on FOX TV News, and he has been intricately involved in many food & wine events. He also has the honor of serving as a celebrity Judge for the prestigious Share Our Strength/Taste of The Nation, as well as the Best of Boca, Venetian Carnivale, and Chocolate Decadence Festivals. Ken Spahn also teaches a class in Hospitality Law at Lynn University College of Hospitality Management; and is widely recognized as one of Florida's most knowledgeable restaurants professionals.
Ken Spahn brings a wealth of restaurant industry experience, having served pivotal roles with General Mills Restaurants, Inc. (n/k/a Darden Restaurants), Young & Rubicam, York Steakhouse chain, Skyline Chili (the premier chain of Cincinnati-style chili parlors), American Restaurant Marketing Group, and Western Steer Steakhouse. He has worked closely with and for restaurateurs, corporate management and HR executives, store-level managers, and multi-unit franchisees to help identify, recruit, train, and retain qualified personnel. He has consulted for various local, regional, and start-up concepts, and other hospitality, mixed-use, and food service operations. Mr. Spahn also boasts a distinguished career in business and real estate law, having served as counsel for major commercial developers and various national, regional, and local restaurant, hospitality, and retail establishments. He has also published four nationally recognized Law Review articles and numerous industry articles.
With his extensive experience and constantly-expanding network of inside connections, Ken Spahn has developed a truly unique, unparalleled, and PERSONAL knowledge of the restaurant and hospitality business, its key players, and their unique concerns.
Mr. Spahn holds a J.D. degree with Honors from Florida State University College of Law; and a B.S. degree with High Honors in Business Marketing from Miami University in beautiful Oxford, Ohio. He is a member of the Florida Bar, and active in various civic and community organizations, including Share our Strength, March of Dimes, Hospice Foundation, the Boca Raton Historical Society, and the Chamber of Commerce. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Spahn now resides in Boca Raton, Florida.
